O leilão dos porcos da exposição ‘Pig Parade’, que ficou famosa pelo roubo de 12 das 52 peças, rendeu 5500 euros a favor da Associação Portuguesa de Pais e Amigos do Cidadão Deficiente Mental de Évora.
Todos os porcos, construídos em fibra de vidro e pintados por alunos de diversas escolas e instituições deste concelho, foram adquiridas pela população. A peça mais valiosa rendeu 310 euros.
O leilão, que teve lugar na noite de ontem no recinto das Festas Populares da Cidade no dia de S. Pedro, feriado municipal, constituiu um enorme sucesso, tendo como base de licitação inicial de 100 euros por cada porco.
António Maia, residente no Ciborro, no concelho de Montemor-o-Novo, foi o primeiro a licitar, levando para casa um dos “porcos decorados”. “Vim de propósito para ajudar a causa. Agora, o porco vai embelezar o meu jardim”, disse.
Para promover o 2º Congresso Iberoamericano de Suinicultura que decorreu em Évora entre os dias 21 e 24 de Junho, foram distribuídos pelas principais praças e ruas da cidade de Évora 52 porcos em fibra de vidro.
O primeiro foi roubado na primeira noite, no dia 13 de Junho. Depois seguiram-se mais 11, o que obrigou a autarquia a concentrar todas as peças na Praça do Giraldo, a única da cidade com vigilância permanente da PSP. Tal como o CM noticiou, foi criada um grupo no Facebook para tentar recuperar os porcos. Três foram mesmo recuperados. Um foi encontrado abandonado junto à estrada de Arraiolos. Os outros dois apareceram dias antes do leilão. Um trazia um bilhete, escrito com humor em jeito de pedido de desculpa.
